How crossbreeding actually works
- 1. Put one plant in the middle of a large planter and up to eight around it. The middle plant is the one that changes.
- 2. Each of the six gene slots is worked out on its own. Every surrounding plant votes with the gene it has in that slot.
- 3. Votes are weighted: G, Y and H count 0.6 each, W and X count 1.0 each. Same gene, votes add up.
- 4. The winning vote only replaces the middle plant's gene if it is higher than that gene's own weight. A tie means the middle plant keeps what it had.
- 5. That is why two green donors beat one red gene (1.2 > 1.0) but one green donor never does (0.6 is not above 1.0).
What this tool will not do
- It will not guess. When two genes tie for a slot the game rolls a dice, so the plan is shown as a chance, never as a certainty.
- It will not invent genes. If no clone you own carries the gene you want, the answer is that it cannot be bred — and which slot is to blame.
- It does not read your screen. Nothing is captured, uploaded or stored. You type the genes in.
