How we know

The labels on servers, wipes, maps, and skins mean specific things. This page is the definition. Rustexa does not use BattleMetrics.

Seen

Seen means Rustexa observed it directly. For a wipe, that is the born-wipe detector or another direct observation of the server, not a schedule and not a guess.

Announced

Announced means a server operator or organizer published it, for example a wipe schedule or an advertised cadence. An announcement is not the same as Rustexa seeing the wipe happen.

Estimated

Estimated means Rustexa derived it from enough measured history, such as a predicted next wipe from a measured interval. It is not a Facepunch force-wipe calendar and it is not shown as something Rustexa saw.

Unknown

Unknown means the data is missing or not confirmed. Rustexa does not invent a wipe time, a map, or a price to fill the gap. A server region with nothing stored is labeled Unknown.

Stale

Stale means Rustexa has a value, but it is older than the freshness window for that surface. A stale population count is not shown as live. A stale store check is not shown as the current Rust Store listing.

Servers

Server identity and live state come from direct server queries and the Steam server list. Population is treated as live for about 8 minutes after the last refresh. After that it is labeled stale. After about 30 minutes without a refresh it is labeled unknown, unless the server is offline. A player list from a query is stale after about 5 minutes.

Wipes

A wipe row is Seen when Rustexa observed it, Announced when it comes from an operator schedule, or Estimated when it is predicted from measured history. If none of those apply, the wipe time stays unknown. An announced schedule and a seen wipe are not shown as the same fact.

Maps

Map identity is the canonical map Rustexa recorded for that server: name, size, and seed when those were observed. Procedural and custom are different kinds of map. A custom map is not rendered as a Rustexa-generated procedural map. A missing preview image does not make a known map identity unknown. If the identity was not observed, it stays unknown.

Skins

Rust Store status is separate from marketplace listings. The product can show an item as in the Rust Store, previously in the Rust Store, or current store availability unknown. A store check that is too old is labeled stale and is not described as the item being in the store now.

Rust Store price is the official Facepunch item-store price. A current ask is a fresh third-party sell offer, named with the site. A last known ask is older than that site's freshness window and shows its age. Steam lowest listing is the lowest Steam Community Market sell listing at the time Rustexa checked. When that check is older than a day, the price is labeled stale.

Trade-site value is site credit or an operator price, including a Trade value. It is not a Rust Store price and not a cash ask. Rustexa does not average trade-site values with cash asks. A converted display currency is marked as converted.

Region, type, and gather

When no region is stored, the explorer shows Unknown. Rustexa does not guess a region from the server name. If the region column is empty, a separate pass can fill it from the public IP-registry country of the server address. That fill does not overwrite a region already stored, and it is recorded as a registry fact about the address, not as a region the server announced.

Server type is unknown when the only signal is a database default of vanilla. Vanilla or modded is shown when a framework, an explicit type, or a tag supports it.

Gather rate is shown when the server reports a number. Gather buckets are inferred groupings of that number. They are not an official server setting. If the server did not report a rate, gather stays unknown.
